	Month on the Cape I was lucky enough to have a partner who let me ditch responsibility and spend 4 more weeks on Cape Cod (after the large family summer week). I picked up (beach) jogging, did some creative writing (a "treatment" for a film idea), did a nice time lapse: http://archive.org/details/capeHD and spent days and weeks with all sorts of friends and family. Thank you so much to my five family members who made it all possible plus all the extra "bonus trips" and time I got with each of you with the extra time East. Sure, there were bugs (the dreaded "no see 'ums" must have been breeding season), but the *staggering beauty* of the area and all it has to offer made it a time I will never forget. I've always wanted a black and yellow car, and when I saw this mocked up in an online rendering, I was like "oh yah, we need to go find one and see if it looks even *close* to this good". 	helios 50th Our wonderful friend Todd has his birthday in Mendocino at "Helios". Thanks Todd for once again sharing your wonderful remote land with us and happy birthday!! ================================= Some of the songs I playlisted that weekend were some of my favorite "mashups" here: http://www.archive.org/~tracey/downloads/mashers/ (I especially like/recommend "Dance Dreams" ("Just Dance" mashed to "Sweet Dreams" and the "United State of Pop" (26 billboard top hits mashed together as audio and/or video)) ================================= PRIOR VISIT: When we visiting "Helios" in summer 2007, specifically knowing it was both around the peak of the annual "Perseids meteor shower" *and* a new (as in no) moon, we knew the stars up there would not disappoint. I geeked out with some help and equipment from Hunter for a few hours over the course of a night experimenting with long exposure frames and then lapsing them together. We caught clips of meteors (3 big slashes of light near the end, especially), the milky way, satellites, and stars rotating "on the axis" of the North Star. http://www.archive.org/details/meteorocino I really enjoyed a night walk on the dirt roads through the fields with Todd with only the stars illuminating. 	bike accident 2 weeks before weeklong AIDS LifeCycle charity ride, on last long training ride of the event, 20 miles from end of ride. BLAM! T-boned practically out of nowhere from a woman on a steel cruiser bike that didn't stop or check left or right out of a hidden driveway behind fence/hedges. "the perp" was rushing off to 5pm work shift from a friend's pool party. possible she had smoked out a bit before? how can i blame her for that on a perfect hot weekend day in marin? but i *can* blame her for being reckless with a moving vehicle. still, she was horrified and utterly sorry for it, tried her best to help, offered to pay for a wheel, and gave me her card. she got the smallest scrape on a knee and was mostly shaking and shaken up. we'll prolly not worry about the wheel (we have an exact copy from hunter's bike that he upgraded away from) and be karmic thankful things didn't get worse for either of us. as hunter points out, what if she had been a car? or if i had been a car? or if i had fallen into traffic or not fallen as "well" as i did. thanking that my head was unscathed and that my brain is still intact! 3 photos

	2009 Jon Pon Memorial Ride this was to be 2-day and camping, 75 mile then 55 mile back-to-back bikeride weekend. well, we made 2 for 3! (it rained like stink sunday morning so we cancelled the ride after everyone was pretty wet from saturday mistings and light sprinkles). 11 photos
